On the occasion of National Legal Services Day, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Papum Pare District, organized a legal awareness program for school children and women vendors at the APWWS Office in Naharlagun.
Legal Aid Counsel Adv Taba Zim spoke to the school children about POCSO, good touch and bad touch, the Domestic Violence Act, the Arunachal Pradesh Victim Compensation Scheme, and how to approach the Women's Legal Cell for free legal assistance.
To mark the day, the DLSA, Papum Pare District, also distributed study materials to the women vendors of Naharlagun who are attending the adult education program run by APWWS.
In her address, APWWS President Kani Nada Maling thanked the team for organizing such a legal awareness program for the children and women vendors and requested that more such programs be organized for women vendors shortly, as legal knowledge is very important for them so that they can stand up for their rights.
The program was attended by members of the DLSA, Papum Pare District, APWWS members, school children and women vendors.
